Have you met the ghost of the wych elm? She’s been there for oh such a long time, wearing rags and a ring and a single shoe, and she asks if you know who she is. Have you met the ghost of the wych elm? Was she a spy or a witch or a singer? Her skeleton bones have all disappeared. Do you know who she is? Who is the ghost of the wych elm? Wych Elm: (pronounced the same as "witch"), also called the Scotch or Scots elm, a large deciduous tree native to the British Isles. Wych comes from Old English Wice, meaning pliant or supple.
